Molly Ann Clymer, OD
Dr. Clymer is a native of Indiana County and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Life Sciences and a Minor in Psychology. She served as the President of the Penn State Association for Women in Science. Dr. Clymer continued her education and graduated with academic honors from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2011. She was awarded the Highest Clinical Excellence in Primary Care award. This award is given to four members of each graduating class that demonstrate outstanding clinical skills, sensitivity and concern for individual patients.
Following graduation, Dr. Clymer completed a yearlong accredited hospital based residency in Ocular Disease from the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center. During her time at the Baltimore VA she completed external specialty rotations gaining additional knowledge in Glaucoma, Corneal, and Retinal Disease. Dr. Clymer earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) in 2014 after being evaluated against the highest standards of professional competence. In 2016 she earned Board Certification status after completing the requirements to become a Diplomate in the American Board of Optometry.
Dr. Clymer is a member of The American Optometric Association, The Pennsylvania Optometric Association and serves on the executive board of The Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society (CPOS). Dr. Clymer was honored to be named the CPOS Young OD of the Year in 2016 for outstanding leadership and service to her profession and the visual welfare of the public. As a member of the May Eye Care team she provides comprehensive eye care including treatment of eye diseases, postoperative care, and low vision evaluations. Dr. Clymer is dedicated to providing her patients with the highest quality of care.
