Carl J. May Jr., MD
With more than 10,000 cataract surgeries and thousands of LASIK and glaucoma procedures over three decades in Hanover, Dr. May is one of South-Central Pennsylvania’s most experienced eye surgeons. He founded The May Eye Care Center & Associates in 2001, owns and serves as Medical Director of Cherry Tree Surgical, and authored the patient guide LASIK Vision Correction. A Chief Resident during his ophthalmology training and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1995, he specializes in laser cataract surgery (ReLACS), custom LASIK, and glaucoma treatment.

Molly Ann R. Clymer, OD, FAAO
A residency-trained, board-certified optometrist, Dr. Clymer has provided comprehensive eye exams and medical eye care at May Eye Care Center since 2012. She earned her doctorate with highest clinical excellence from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry, completed a hospital-based ocular disease residency at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Her honors include the 2021 Pennsylvania Young Optometrist of the Year.

Noah Eckel, OD
The newest member of our doctor team, Dr. Eckel joined May Eye Care Center in 2026 after earning his Doctor of Optometry summa cum laude from the Southern College of Optometry, and provides comprehensive eye exams and medical eye care. His clinical training spans the diagnosis and management of ocular disease along with pediatrics, low vision, and vision therapy, and includes Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda plus neuro-optometric evaluations of service members with traumatic brain injury at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE).
